Compare the main brands Yamaha, Kawai, Kemble, Weber and Steinmayer together
Very few showrooms in the UK can offer this

Where are Kemble Pianos made?
Kemble Pianos were made in Milton Keynes until October 2009 when Yamaha closed the UK factory and moved production to Indonesia.
Has Kemble Piano quality gone down?
No, definitely not. In fact the opposite is true. There is much mis-
Why are they better now than when they were UK built?
Far more time is being spent by UK technicians on the final regulation and toning of each individual piano than was ever spent when production was in the UK. The pianos impart a superb singing tone which is both mellow and clear, consistent with Yamaha’s passion to produce a quality range with a truly classic British sound.
What about the small firms producing British made pianos?
Recently some small firms have sprung up claiming to be building pianos in the UK. However it would appear that this claim is being achieved by taking a chinese built piano and changing or adding sufficient parts that legally it can be stated that they have been made in the UK. It remains to be seen how such outfits can ensure product liability and provide the level of guarantee and service into the future that can be expected with a Kemble piano supported by Yamaha.
If Kemble Pianos are made by Yamaha why not buy a ‘Yamaha’?
Kemble pianos are made to different specifications from their Yamaha branded counterparts. The action regulation, hammer toning and soundboard material are chosen and put together throughout the manufacturing process to achieve a piano with a classic British sound.
